What goes well with turkey and stuffing I can guess its the cranberry sauce.I love to sandwich the cranberry sauce between the turkey and stuffing.I love the combination of the tangy ,sweet and savory flavor its like a big thanksgiving umami explosion in your mouth.I made some homemade cranberry sauce from scratch its easy and simple to make .Take no longer than 30 minutes to prepare and it will be on your table in no time.

This the perfect side dish for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This cranberry sauce has some extras in it.I added cinnamon, ginger and vanilla extract to give it that push of flavor and along side it I added some julienne orange peel.So this isn’t your basic cranberry sauce it has a bit of of a unique flair to it.Some people may give or take what I put in it but you can omit what you don’t like and make it your own. It’s still going to be delicious.

What you’ll need to make this:

1 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries

1-1/4 cups sugar

1-1/2 cups of orange juice

1 tbsp orange zest

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp of cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground ginger

Directions:

1. In a medium or large sauce pan add the orange juice ,sugar ,orange zest ,vanilla and spices.

2. Turn the stove onto medium heat and let the orange juice mixture come to a boil.

3. Add in the  cranberries and stir  until you hear the cranberries  pop .

4.Keep stirring for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens

5.Transfer sauce to a container and let cool so it will thicken as it sits.

6.Serving when your ready and enjoy!!!
